Our Journey

All That Soul was formed in 2017 by lead singer Kaz and bass player Ro. Their vision was to perform the music that they had always loved. Through live performances, their audiences would be taken on a musical journey through Motown, Soul, Funk and Disco.

They wanted their audience to have a timeless, live soul music experience! Like The Supremes, it was important to have three vocalists who captured both the look and the soulful sounds of the Motown and Disco eras.

Sisters Kaz, Yvonne and Marika, who began singing gospel music in church as children, have come together again as the leading ladies of All That Soul. Individually, they are outstanding vocalists and, together, they produce powerful and beautiful vocals and harmonies, creating a dynamic and engaging presence on stage.

The singers are accompanied by professional and experienced musicians: Bass player -Ro, Keyboard player - Kordz, Guitarist - Neil and Drummer - Mark. The musicians reinforce the vocals with tight, edgy grooves in the style of the original Motown house band, ‘The Funk brothers’, and the later iconic soul musicians, Nile Rogers and Bernard Edwards.

‘All That Soul’ is increasingly recognised for their fresh vintage style, and their reputation for celebrating timeless music through exciting live shows, outstanding vocals and superb musicianship continues to grow throughout the UK.

All That Soul currently perform at Weddings, Private Parties and at Corporate and Social functions. This year, they also headlined at The Alban Street Festival where thousands attended, and they played on the main stage at Hertford's popular and well established 'Rock The Castle' music Festival.

Lead singer Kaz grew up singing gospel music with her sisters in church, where she also directed the youth choir. Her roots in Gospel has influenced her love of soul music. Kaz went on to front soul bands and to sing with choirs at various functions. Kaz has performed with world-class artists such as Joss Stone, Susan Boyle and Jermaine Douglas, and was part of an opening act for the British reggae group, Aswad.

Yvonne’s talent was first recognised at church where she began singing as a child. Throughout the years, Yvonne has sung with her sisters at various functions and events. Yvonne regularly deputised as a vocalist with other soul bands throughout Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire. A notable moment in her singing career was performing with Susan Boyle.

Like her sisters, Marika grew up singing in church and has also sung with various choirs. Marika is currently a lead vocalist at the Church that she attends, and is well known for her soulful raspy tone, a tone that lends itself perfectly to classic 60’s Soul hits ‘Please Mr Postman’ by the Marvelettes and ‘Rescue me’ by Fontella Bass.

Ro, an experienced bass player and guitarist, has been performing, writing, recording and producing music for over 40 years. His career has seen him perform with bands of different genres and he also co-managed local acoustic performers’ events and their live sound productions. Ro’s passion for soul music originated from listening to Motown in the 1960’s. That passion remains today simply because he loves it!

Kordz - keyboard

With over 17 years performance experience, Kordz is an accomplished musician. Although he was taught to play, his main strength is playing by ear, a skill he gained whilst playing in churches. Highlights of his career include performing with American Gospel artists Beverly Crawford and Twinkie Clarke.
